God’s Promises

We see God’s love and faithfulness by looking at His promises to His chosen people. First, is God’s promise to Abraham.  In Genesis 12:1 we see God commands Abraham to leave his homeland. “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you”. Verses 2-3 explain the promises. “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (NKJV).

Since God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, you can also partake of the fruit of the Lord’s promises. This comes through the obedience of Abraham way back during ancient times. This is a blessing directed to all the families of the earth, and we see this as we continue to follow the journey of Abraham.

He left his home and set out for the Promised Land where God met all of his needs. It is interesting to note that even at present, the cities Abraham journeyed through are wonderfully developing.
